At BB Imaging, we believe the future of sonography depends on more than advanced technology and strong clinical protocols — it depends on people. Clinical rotations are one of the most meaningful ways we invest in that future. They give students rare, hands-on experience in real-world settings while creating opportunities for our sonographers to mentor, lead, and shape the next generation of imaging professionals.
This initiative recently reached an exciting milestone for our Pacific Northwest region, where Veronika became the first student to complete a maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) rotation with BB Imaging. She was paired with Kayla, a seasoned sonographer who embraced the opportunity to mentor and share her passion for MFM. What followed was a connection rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and mutual growth.
For Veronika, stepping into the world of MFM was both challenging and inspiring. She arrived eager to learn and left with refined technical skills, stronger confidence, and a clear sense of purpose.
“The team at BB Imaging was always willing to teach and review pathology and anatomy,” she shared. “I also learned the importance of teamwork and collaboration and saw patient-centered care modeled in every interaction.”
For Kayla, the experience was equally rewarding.
“Having a student keeps you sharp and reminds you why this work matters,” she said. ”Veronika’s curiosity sparked deeper discussions and pushed me to think in new ways. Students are our future coworkers. The stronger their foundation before graduation, the better we all become.”
The story doesn’t end there. Veronika has accepted a full-time offer to join BB Imaging in December, a testament to how rotations can open doors for students while strengthening clinical teams in regions where sonographers are scarce.
“We absolutely loved having Veronika in the clinic,” said Kayla. “She felt like part of the team from day one, and her scanning abilities were very impressive.”
